Dear Garfield Families,
Welcome back! We are thrilled to have our awesome Geckos back in the building. There is a special kind of magic that returns to these halls when they’re filled with the laughter, curiosity, and bright voices of our students.
Here is what’s going on at Garfield this week:
Lost and Found
Just a reminder that the lost and found is filling up again! Please feel free to stop by to see if any of the items belong to your student. Items will be donated at the end of this week, Friday, April 3rd.
Bike Safety
Thank you so much for helping out with our K-5 Bike Safety Program! If you have not had a chance to sign up and are a clear volunteer, you are welcome to sign up for any slot not filled yet:
Sign up here to help during PE classes or on Biking Field Trips.
You can also email cassie.minot@corvallis.k12.or.us with any questions.
*If the time you were hoping to volunteer for is full, scroll down to the second week. We have more slots open there.
*Also, please consider volunteering for another grade level. We welcome your support at all levels for this program!
5th Grade Parents
5th grade parents/guardians, please join us on Wednesday, April 2nd at 6:00pm in the cafeteria for a Parent Information Session where we will share all about outdoor school and discuss any questions you may have.
It’s a “book-tastic” week here at Garfield!
We have two major events coming up to help our students find their next favorite story:
- The Scholastic Book Fair: Hosted by our amazing PTA, the Book Fair will be open in the library all week long. *Students will be able to go to the book fair after school with a parent present. Otherwise, we will be making sure they get to where they need to be after school on time.
- Books and Breakfast: Join us this Saturday for a fun yearly tradition. Families can enjoy a delicious breakfast while browsing a selection of free books to take home and keep.
Do you have gently used books looking for a new home? We are collecting donations for our Books and Breakfast event. Please drop your books in the designated boxes located in the front office.
We look forward to seeing you at the April events! Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.
Sincerely,
Nancy Davila-Williams, Principal
