Dear Garfield Families,
A huge thank you to the Garfield PTA for hosting such a spectacular STEAM Night! It was wonderful to see our students and families dive into so many engaging activities. Thank you for providing such an enriching and inclusive opportunity for our students!
Here is some information for you as we start to move towards the end of the school year:
Volunteers:
Messages encouraging volunteer registration have been sent throughout the year.
Unfortunately, at this point, there is no guarantee that volunteers will be cleared by the time a spring event is here. We appreciate your understanding as this is an important requirement for keeping all students safe.
However, there are some amazing evening spring events coming up that all families are welcome to participate in. More information to come on those!
Library Books:
Our dedicated Library and Media Tech (LMT) and wonderful volunteers work tirelessly to keep the Garfield library organized and filled with treasures in both English and Spanish. This in-house borrowing system is a fantastic way for students to explore new worlds, master library resources, and discover the joy of reading!
To keep this system thriving, we need your help. Please remind your students to take good care of and return their books on time; this ensures they can dive into their next great read and allows their classmates to enjoy those same stories. This library belongs to all of us, and it truly works best when we work together.
Teacher Appreciation Week
We invite you to join us in celebrating our Certified Staff for Teacher Appreciation Week this week!
Here are a few simple ideas:
- Write a handwritten note or “thank you” card.
- Create a drawing or a special piece of art.
- Pick a flower from the garden.
- Any small token of appreciation
“Certified Staff” includes many of the dedicated professionals who work directly with our students:
- Classroom & Special Education Teachers
- School Dean
- Specialist Teachers: PE, Music, Art
- Counseling & Mental Health Staff
- Interventionists, MTSS, & Literacy Coaches
- EL Teachers & New Teacher Mentors
