School Information
We are a National Distinguished Title I School, International Spanish Academy School, Dual Immersion School, and ELL Magnet School. Our dual immersion program began in September 2001 and expanded to become school-wide in 2012. We have a nurturing environment with high behavior expectations for safe, responsible, and respectful behavior.
Our Mission
We provide a cognitively demanding, bilingual education to students in our school community. Our goal is to create an environment where individual voice is valued, heard, and developed and ensure that each student has the foundational skills necessary to engage in the critical thinking that is necessary to be an active member of their community.
Nancy Davila-Williams, Principal
Nancy Davila-Williams has served as the Garfield principal since 2021. Dedicated to fostering a school community that deeply embraces bilingualism and biculturalism, Mrs. Davila-Williams brings over two decades of diverse educational experience to her leadership role.
She spent the first 17 years of her career in public education teaching at the elementary level, spanning kindergarten, second, and fifth grades in dual language schools. Throughout her journey, she has also served as the Garfield testing coordinator, Response to Intervention (RTI) specialist, and as the Dean of Students.
Mrs. Davila-Williams comes from a large, close-knit family that now spans four generations. Deeply rooted in the local community, she and her five siblings are all Crescent Valley High School alumni. Mrs. Davila-Williams is married to a Corvallis High School alumnus and they are the proud parents of three Corvallis School District graduates who were Garfield geckos, Linus Pauling Pride and CHS Spartans!
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Oregon State University, a Master of Education from George Fox University—with endorsements in Bilingual Education, Spanish, ESOL and Reading—and earned her administrative license from Portland State University.
Whether she is collaborating with staff, connecting with families, or cheering on students in the hallways, Mrs. Davila-Williams is incredibly proud to lead the school community she holds so dear. Once a Garfield Gecko, always a Garfield Gecko!
