Hello Garfield Families!

You have been receiving updates about current cases of Covid-19 at Garfield. It’s been a challenging couple of weeks and we are working hard to make sure that distancing, handwashing and mask wearing continues as we navigate school during a pandemic. Overall, students are doing a great job of wearing their masks in school. Something I am seeing that is proving to be more challenging is staying at a distance from their friends. There are signs and constant reminders about this, but reminders from home could also be helpful. I know it doesn’t feel natural, and it takes a lot of practice, but I also know that our students can do this. Thanks for your help.

Covid Notifications:

The notifications that you are receiving about Covid-19 cases at Garfield include the last date the student was in the building. The date listed is not the date we were notified. We are sending the letters out soon after we are notified.

Volunteers:

Volunteers are slowly trickling in. It’s so great to see them in the building again!

In order to volunteer, you must be on the current clearance list from the district. Here is the link to register: https://www.csd509j.net/students-parents/volunteer/volunteer-application/

School Compact:

The Garfield School Compact is being sent home today. Please read it over with your child and send the signed copy back to your child’s teacher early next week.

Non-school Days:

Next week, the students will have school from Monday through Wednesday.

There is no school on Thursday, February 3rd or Friday, February 4th.

Have a great weekend!
