Gecko News (2-25-2022)

Hello Garfield Families!

This has been quite the combination of beautiful clear days and biting cold! Students should be coming to school with a warm jacket or coat. Let us know if we can help with one.

Conferences:

There is no school from March 9 – 11th to allow for parent/teacher conferences. Conferences will be held virtually. Please look out for information coming home from your child’s teacher to coordinate a time.

Dental Screenings:

Dental screenings will be provided to students on Friday, March 4th.

It is important for us to continue to provide screenings to be able to help with student health needs.

Be assured that our covid precautions remain in place during these screenings as well.

Read Across America:

We will have a school wide pajama day on March 2nd for Read Across America. Our focus is on the love of reading books in Spanish and English. We will pause at one point in the day to have some schoolwide DEAR time! DEAR is Drop Everything AND Read!  We look forward to this special event that our teachers coordinated for us all to enjoy.

Here are the updated flowcharts for when to keep kids home and when to bring them to school:

Can my student go to school?

  • For students UP TO DATE on their vaccination (English)
  • For students NOT up to date on their vaccination (English)

Thanks everyone. Have a great weekend!
