Gecko News (10-14-2022)

Dear Garfield Families,

I hope you’ve been enjoying this beautiful fall weather. As I see field trip request forms come across my desk I am reminded of how lucky we are to have volunteers to help us provide these real world experiences for students as part of their learning.

If you haven’t completed a volunteer registration, and you would like to chaperone a field trip, it’s not too late! They are good for two years at a time. Here is that link again: https://www.csd509j.net/students-parents/volunteer/volunteer-application/

Student Assembly:

This Friday, we will be having our second student assembly. We will be discussing spirit week and the spirit week themes. Spirit week will be the week of October 31 – November 4th. We wanted to make sure to share that with you so that students are reminded that it is two weeks after the assembly. We’ll share the themes after they are shared at the assembly.

Fall Conferences:

Fall conferences will be held on October 26-28th; there will be no school on those days.

Conferences will be held in person. Online conferences will be available on a needs basis. Your child’s teacher will be reaching out to schedule conferences in the next week or so.

Lost and Found:

We have a collection gathering in the lost and found. If your child has lost any articles of clothing, please feel free to come by before or after school to search the lost and found.

Have a great weekend!

Nancy Davila-Williams, Garfield Principal
