Dear Garfield Families,
Welcome to Garfield and welcome back to our returning families! It has been so nice to see families and our amazing Garfield Geckos coming through the doors again. We are all settling into new routines and it takes some time and communication to make sure we get the school year off to a good start. That being said, here is some information that could help with that:
Arrival and Dismissal Details:Drop off at the gates
- Kinder and 1st grade students: Drop off and Pick up at the Dixon Street gate
- 2nd and 3rd students: Drop off and Pick up at the front entrance
- 4th and 5th students: Drop off and Pick up at the 11th street gate
Now that we are up and running, we ask that you drop students off at the gates and say your goodbyes for the day there; or at the front entrance for second and third grade students. At this point, only students should be coming through the gates to the classrooms. Families are always welcome to stop by the front office throughout the day.
Staff will be ready to support students with getting to their lines if they get here before 8:00 and to their classroom doors if they get here at 8:00. We appreciate your help with this.
If you arrive after 8:00 am, please bring your student to the front office, as the gates will be closed to allow staff to head into the school to start the day with students.
Garfield Jog-a-thon
We are ready to bring back the Garfield Jog-a-thon! This is a fun activity that our wonderful PTA puts on for the school in collaboration with staff and volunteers. It will be October 5th after 12:30pm. (More details to come!)
