Dine Out at Pastinis on Thursday, September 7! Thank you to everyone who participated in our first dine-out of the school year to raise money for the PTA. We will have more dine-outs throughout the year.
Join our first PTA meeting of the year! Tuesday, September 26th, 6-7:30pm. Come to learn more about the PTA, Garfield School, and how to get involved! The PTA is currently working on setting up childcare during the meeting.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) volunteers needed to help lead our PTA meetings. The Garfield Parent Teacher Association is a bilingual and multicultural group with Spanish and English speaking co-leaders. We hold our meetings in both Spanish and English.
Spanish-Speaking Parent volunteer group! Are you interested in rebuilding the Friday morning Spanish-speaking parent group? This group would gather every Friday (school days) from 8:20-10am to meet more parents, work on classroom projects, and discuss topics of interest. Everyone is welcome! If this is something you are interested in please email [email protected]. We hope to bring this back this year!
Sept. 21: Garfield Back-to-School Picnic & Open House, 5:30 – 7:00 pm: Feel free to bring your picnic dinner and join other Garfield families by the playground. Then, join your child’s classroom for an explanation of classroom routines, expectations, and themes that students will be studying throughout the year. Look for the PTA table during the picnic for more ways to get involved!
October 5: Gecko Run is being scheduled! And volunteers needed! This year’s Gecko Run will be held on October 5. We’re looking for parent volunteers to help organize the event, give out water, count laps, and cheer the kids on! Please contact [email protected] to volunteer!
