Dear Garfield Families,
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful PTA for their outstanding work on the end-of-year picnic and movie night! This event was a perfect example of bringing our community together, offering great food, and celebrating our students’ achievements. Showing a movie based on an Oregon Battle of the Books selection was an inspired touch, beautifully connecting their reading journey with a fun, shared experience. It truly was a night that encompassed everything—community, good food, a love for reading, and even some robotics and dancing!
Field Day:
Thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers who helped our amazing team: Ms. Lepe and Ms. Kinney with the K-2 Field Day! Tuesday is the 3-5 Field Day and we are short volunteers! If you are cleared and have been considering it, please contact us to sign up. We’d love your help!
The times are:
5th Grade: 10:25-11:50
3rd Grade: 11:30-12:50
4th Grade: 12:30-1:50
Families of 3rd, 4th and 5th Graders:
Please send your students to school on Tuesday with a water bottle, comfortable clothes, closed toe shoes and sunscreen. Thank you!
Assembly
Our final assembly of the year will be this Friday, June 6th. Please feel free to join us at 12:45pm.
Kindergarten and 5th Grade Families: Save the Date:
- Kindergarten families, kindergarten graduation will be June 12, 2025 at 9:00am in the school gym. Please arrive by 8:45am if you would like to find seating. Entrance is through the 11th Street gym door. We cannot leave the door propped open – so, please plan on being inside before 9:00 am.
- 5th Grade families, 5th grade graduation will be June 12, 2025 at 1:00pm in the school gym. Please arrive by 12:45pm if you would like to find seating. Entrance is through the 11th Street gym door.
- We ask that you leave siblings in class during this event as their teachers have special activities planned for them.
- After the ceremony, students will head back to class to finish the day. Families are asked to exit through the 11th street door and pick students up at regular pick up times and locations. Thank you.
Last Day of School and of After School Programs:
The last day of school is June 13th at 12:30pm
The last day of Pages is this Thursday, June 5th
The last day for STARS is Thursday, June 12th
The last day for the Boys and Girls Club clubhouse is June 13th
