Dear Garfield Families,
I hope this message finds you well. First, I’d like to extend a huge thank you to the Garfield PTA and all of our wonderful coaches for their hard work on the Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB)! Our students did a fantastic job collaborating with their teams, diving into their reading and demonstrating excellent sportsmanship.
If your 3rd–5th grade student didn’t participate in OBOB, don’t worry—Lucha Libros is just around the corner! This is our Spanish-language equivalent to OBOB and offers a wonderful opportunity for students to discover some incredible Spanish literature. Stay tuned for more details!
No Parking in the Bus Lanes Please
To keep our dismissal running smoothly and safely, we need your help! Please avoid parking in the bus lane on Dixon Street during afternoon pickup. Our buses require significant clearance to maneuver safely, so we ask that you park further up the street or utilize the main parking lot or nearby side streets instead. Let’s work together to keep the bus lanes clear and our students safe!
Kinder Registration for 26-27
Believe it or not, it’s already time to start registering incoming kindergarten students! They grow so fast! Kindergarten registration starts on March 1st.
Families need to register for kinder at their boundary school starting March 1st. If you are not in the Garfield boundary and would like your child to attend our school, please make sure to apply for a transfer by February 27th. (See transfer information below)
Transfers
The Corvallis School District resident transfer window is now open.
If your Garfield student has a younger sibling, and you do not live in the Garfield boundary, we encourage you to fill out a transfer request now.
Here is that link: Early Resident Transfer Application (Now Open)
