Dear Parents
As we shift to on-site learning, I know that there is a lot of information to sift through as we work out the details involved in adding more in-person time for students and continuing to support our cohort C/Q students–both of which are priorities for planning the rest of the school year. I am confident that our staff will make it the best possible experience for all our students. Below are some important details to help with your planning.
On-site Schedules
- Begins Monday, May 3.
- 8:00 am-1:00 pm M/T/Th/F; Wednesdays remain as is.
- All learning occurs at school; there will no longer be a virtual/at-home component.
Cohort C/Quarantining Students
- Begins Monday, May 3
- Supports students opting not to come for in-person learning (C) and for students that need to quarantine (Q).
- Virtual Synchronous Times: Class Meeting – 8:15 and Synchronous Learning with a teacher 1:45pm-2:45pm.
- An asynchronous learning plan will be provided for school days by a teacher.
Transition Week
The week of April 26-30 will look different and will be partially used to help staff prepare for the new schedule.
- There will be no students on campus this week; all learning will be virtual.
- The schedule for this week will be:
-
- Monday – Remote Core Instruction 8:15-11:00; asynchronous work in afternoon
- Tuesday – Remote Core Instruction 8:15-11:00; asynchronous work in afternoon
- Wednesday – specials classes, normal schedule
- Thursday – class meeting 8:15-9:00; asynchronous work
- Friday – class meeting 8:15-9:00; asynchronous work
Health and Safety
The main shift is moving from 6 feet to 3 feet of physical distance within classroom spaces. When eating, it is still required to maintain 6 feet of distance.
Food
Snacks: Students are allowed to bring snacks from home; the school will also have snacks that can be provided to students. School provided snacks will be different from the food items currently being given at school.
Lunch: School Meals will be served “to-go” for eating at home (Tuesday additional meal to go home for Wednesday for those students/families wanting or needing it). Families can pre-order online.
Transportation
Bus stops, routes, and times will change with our new schedule. The bus company (STA) will contact families with details closer to the May 3rd start date. If you have not submitted a bus request and need bussing for your child, please go to this link. Here is the phone number for Student Transportation of America should you need it: 541-275-1079
Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Nancy Davila-Williams,
