Dear Families,
Happy Winter! It is so wonderful to have all the students back at school after their restful, winter break. Teachers and staff are working this week with students to review school-wide expectations and re-familiarize students with classroom routines. Please take a moment to discuss what safe, responsible, and respectful, looks like at school.
Maximizing the learning time for your children is a great priority at Garfield. The school day begins at 8:00 am. Teachers work to begin instruction promptly. It is important that students be in class at 8:00 am so they can participate in all of the classroom instruction. Supervision begins at 7:30 a.m. Students have the choice to play outside (or gym if there is bad weather) or go to the cafeteria. Students will be dismissed from those locations so they can get to their classrooms before instruction begins.
