Hello and welcome back!
We hope you had a nice couple of weeks! We’re so happy to have students back in the building!
As I walk through the halls of Garfield, I am reminded of what a great place this is to be every day. Students speaking and reading in Spanish and English can be heard as I walk by each classroom. Art is being created and displayed throughout the school. I hear the sounds of students enjoying some team games in the gym. Beautiful music can be heard upon entering the music room and so much more by so many more! It’s a busy place! Busy with learning, creating and making connections!
Just a couple of reminders this week:
We continue to have indoor and outdoor eating as options for meals. Please send kids to school with warm hooded jackets and let us know if we can help with one.
Please continue to discuss appropriate mask use with your children. When they are in the building, they are still required to wear their mask over their nose and mouth unless they ask for a mask break outside.
Volunteers:
Volunteers must be on the current clearance list from the district before we can have them in the building. We do not have the updated list yet but anticipate we will have it soon. Thank you for your patience.
Covid Notifications:
I have recently been asked about notifications in regards to covid cases at the school. The process is the same for both staff and students and can be found on the district website at this link: https://www.csd509j.net/news/how-we-communicate-with-staff-and-families-about-a-positive-covid-19-case/
Have a great weekend!
