Gecko News (11-2-2022)

Dear Garfield Families,

What a fun week at Garfield! We saw many kids dressing up for spirit week and of course, the staff had fun partaking in dressing up daily as well. The Garfield Geckos definitely have school spirit!

Here is some information for you all:

Lost and Found:

We had many families stop by to look for lost articles of clothing during conferences which was wonderful! Our collection has dwindled a bit and the rest will be donated to a local charity. We do this every couple of months to make room for new items we find.

Warm Hooded Coats/Jackets:

It’s getting colder and colder but we do love to get outside and enjoy the beautiful Oregon weather if it’s not too rainy. Please make sure to send your child to school with a warm coat or jacket – with their name written in it. If you need help with a jacket, please let us know.

A couple of new staff members:

Our Health Navigator, Abraham Rodriguez, is off to new adventures and Umy Concepcion has rejoined our staff as Health Navigator. Welcome back Umy! Umy can provide information and assistance to families around health services.

Also, Nicole Hernandez is our new Family Advocate who can connect families with information about available resources in the community or at school.

Please contact the front office to ask to speak to either Umy or Nicole anytime during the school day.

Important Dates:

Nov. 11:  Holiday/Non School Day

Nov. 23, 24, 25: Holiday/Non School Days
