Gecko News (11/8/2019)

Dear Families,

Things have been hopping at Garfield this past month. We had so many families come to conferences. It is so valuable for our teachers to have designated time to meet with each family. If you did not have the opportunity to attend your child’s conference, please contact your child’s teacher to schedule a time to meet.

Thanks to all of our Gecko Run donations! At this point, the Gecko Run has raised more than $6500. If you haven’t submitted your Gecko Run donation, you can still send it with your child or drop it off at the office.

The PTA tamale sale is happening next week. If you would like to order tamales, please return your order form with your payment to the office. You can find information about the tamale sale and the order form on our school website.

Volunteering is a great way to learn more about your child’s experience at school. Our teachers are always looking for support with prepping materials, working with students, or organizing projects. If you would like to volunteer in the classroom, the classroom teacher would be your point of contact. They can answer any questions for you, explain our school procedures, and review guidelines for working with students. If you are interested in volunteering in the classroom, please let your child’s teacher know.

We are always looking for help with projects across the school, such as, prepping materials for the office, organizing supplies or preparing displays. If you are interested in volunteering throughout the school, please stop by the office and let someone in the office know.

Sincerely,

Principal Santy
