Here is some information for this week:
Garden Update
The teachers are getting ready to start using the garden beds with their classes, and we are happy to report that the irrigation system is just about done so that they can do that. We should be able to start planting within the week.
Teacher Appreciation week
Thank you to the Garfield PTA for the staff appreciation gifts today. I saw a lot of smiles as they picked up their beautiful plants. Thank you all for supporting the Garfield PTA.
Volunteers

Out of District Enrollment
We have opened up a few spaces at Garfield in Kindergarten and fourth grade for families outside the Corvallis school district boundary. For fourth grade, students will need to take a Spanish proficiency assessment to be able to attend.
Lunch in the Cafeteria
The cafeteria will be open for lunch beginning on May 16th and most of our classes will be moving to indoor lunch at that time. We can seat five students per large cafeteria table with plenty of space between students because we will not have more than one grade level in there at a time. We look forward to the students being able to enjoy the new space with their classmates.
Can my student go to school?
- For students UP TO DATE on their vaccination (English)
- For students NOT up to date on their vaccination (English)
Important dates:
– May 13th: 2-hour early dismissal
