Dear Garfield Families,
Our Garfield School Picnic and Open House is tomorrow!
The picnic is casual – everyone brings their family meal and finds a spot to sit with friends and staff to enjoy a meal together. We will have a few cafeteria tables outside but it’s a good idea to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on for the picnic as well.
We will move into the cafeteria at 6:10 for a quick stand up meeting before heading out to classrooms.
We do not have childcare available for this event. Please be aware that the campus is open at this time, which means the gates are open. So, children should not be left on the playground unsupervised. Please plan on keeping them with you at all times unless you have someone supervising them outside. Thank you for your help with this.
The plan for the evening is as follow:
5:30-6:10 Picnic (bring a picnic dinner for your family)
6:10 Families invited into cafeteria for a quick check in and introduction to teachers
6:20-6:50 First Rotation: Head to classroom to hear about your child’s classroom routines, schedule and curriculum.
6:55-7:20 Second Rotation (for those who may need to attend more than one)
7:20 Announcement to conclude the evening
There will be a table set up with information about how to join our wonderful PTA and there will be a district table with information about becoming a substitute for the district in case you are interested.
