Happy Friday!

We have five days of summer left, and soon we will all be back in the building to start the 2021-2022 school year. Construction crews, district facilities crews and staff are all working tirelessly to have the building ready for students next week. We can’t wait to see everyone!

Here is some additional information and some updates for Garfield families:

Meet and Greet, Tuesday, September 7th at 11:00

The staff has decided that they would like to do an in-person Meet and Greet.

  • In order to be able to do that with COVID guidelines, here is how we have structured it:
  • Unless your teacher has given you a different time to come, the Meet and Greets are from 11:00 – 12:00 pm
  • All family members must wear masks on school grounds
  • Student’s families will wait outside of the classroom – 6 feet from other adults
  • Students will be welcome in to see their classrooms and meet their teachers
  • Teachers will concentrate their time inside with students to show them around and get to know them
  • At 12:00 pm, the Meet & Greet time ends so that teachers can take their lunch and finish preparing for school

Bus registration

If it is your plan to have your student ride the bus to or from school, and you have not done so, you will need to register for transportation. Here is the link: https://www.csd509j.net/departments/student-transportation/bus-registration/

Arrival and Dismissal

We are keeping most of the procedures for arrival and dismissal the same with the exception of staggering and, of course, walking to the modulars which are now gone. Here is a video to explain arrival and dismissal:
