OBOB Begins!
We will be having a Parent and Coaches Meeting for anyone interested in learning more about OBOB and Lucha Libros at Garfield. We encourage any parent whose child (who is in 3rd-5th graders) would like to participate in OBOB or Lucha Libros to come learn about the program.
We will also have an orientation to help anyone interested in volunteering or coaching a team. It’s fun and easy to be an OBOB/Lucha Libros coach! Hope to see you there!

Gecko Run
Thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make the Gecko Run possible! Students had fun running outside with their friends and with all the Garfield community members to cheer them on. If you would like to volunteer for future events, please fill out the contact form HERE. And if you are interested in participating in the fundraising portion of the Gecko Run, be on the lookout for the lap totals that will be coming home with your student.
Dine Outs
Our first Dine Out of the year will be Thursday, October 30th at Burgerville (2300 NW 9th St). Burgerville will donate 20% of purchases made between 5:00 – 8:00 pm if you mention the Garfield Dine Out. Donations help pay for student activities including field trips and Lego Robotics.
For this event Burgerville is also sponsoring a Pre-Halloween Day Trick or Treat. Kids are invited to debut their costumes and take a treat home.
This year, we will have one Dine Out each month. Watch for details on upcoming Dine Outs in your email or on the PTA Facebook page.
Garden Work Party
If you are interested, we are having a Gecko Garden Work Party on October 24, from 4-6 pm at the school playground. Come have your conference and then help put the garden beds to bed for winter. Kids welcome!
