Dear Garfield Families,
Thank you so much to everyone who came out to cheer on our runners or lend a hand at the Garfield Gecko Run! Your energy and smiles made the event so special for our students. A huge shoutout as well to our wonderful PTA! They have this event down to a science, and as soon as it ended, they were hard at work tallying every single lap run by our amazing Geckos!
If you weren’t able to make it this time, don’t worry! We have so many wonderful opportunities to come together as a community throughout the school year, and we’d love to see you at the next one. You can always find upcoming school events and ways to get involved at the bottom of this weekly message.

Picture Day is coming on Thursday, October 8!

Your child can also bring their completed flyer with exact cash or check on PictureDay. Teachers will send home flyers next week in Friday folders. Let us know if you did not receive it and need another copy.

Arrival Times
School starts at 8:00am. Even though students are eating breakfast together in class, community building and settling in starts at 8:00am. We encourage all students to arrive no later than 7:55am to allow them time to get to class on time. Classroom doors open at 7:55am. Students can be dropped off as early as 7:30am.
Volunteering
Volunteers at Garfield help in so many ways and make such a difference in our community!
If you are interested in volunteering, you will need to complete this registration and be cleared beforehand: VOLUNTEER APPLICATION
- Please know that it takes a few weeks to be cleared and clearance is required before the date you want to volunteer.
- Volunteer clearance is good for 2 school years. (however, if you apply in April that counts for the 26-27 school year. So, apply now to be cleared for the full school year.
