Dear Garfield Families,
We’re officially back in session and it has been so great to see you all! The energetic buzz of student voices throughout the school is the best sound! We’ve missed them!
Seeing everyone reconnect from catching up with old friends to welcoming our new families, has made for an incredible start to the school year. Thank you to our parents, guardians, and dedicated staff for making these first few days so special.
General School Details
- Please remember that on Fridays, we have an early release at 1:30 p.m.
- Kindergarten students start regular full days on Tuesday, September 8th. Please be on the lookout for your welcome letter from your child’s classroom teacher after today
- Monday, September 7th is Labor Day; there is no school that day
Arrival Details
Please park your vehicle in the parking lot or around the block if you need to leave your car and come into the building. We ask that you not park in the drop-off lane so that we can safely keep traffic moving.
Bicyclists
If you are riding to and from the school, please remember to walk your bike as there are many people around the school at these times. Thanks for your help with this.
Drive through the parking lot slowly
Drivers, at drop off and pick up, please pull away slowly and cautiously through the parking lot and around the school. We have many little ones around and lots of people crossing streets.
Lost and Found
A huge thank you to everyone who labeled their child’s belongings last year! By writing names on water bottles, jackets, sweaters, lunch boxes, and backpacks, we were able to return almost everything that students left behind. We’d love to keep that going this year! Please take a quick moment to label all personal items so we can get them back to your child right away if they’re left behind.
Back to School Events:
- Thursday, 9/10/26 PTA sponsored coffee for Kinder and new Garfield families 8:00 a.m.
- Tuesday, 9/15/26 Family Picnic and Open House, 5:30-7:15 (5:30 picnic, Info rotations 6:15 & 6:45)
- (Stay tuned: if it rains, it will just be an open house with no picnic)
